To use a Microphone with your Mac get the Griffen iMic(USB Microphone Adapter for the Mac)
You need the program Audiodia(Apple system doesn't send the mic signal to the speakers)
You will have a professional setup. I use it with a projector on a screen with my laptop.... hit of the party......
